We didn't choose our location by accident. We chose it because of what it stands for.
In the heart of Switzerland, the Romans once built one of their most significant fortresses in the region — Castrum Eburodunum. A garrison constructed not merely for war, but for order. A place where standards were set, skills were transferred, and the next generation of defenders were prepared.
Everything we teach has been tested in the field. We do not deliver content we cannot stand behind operationally. If a technique, tool or framework does not hold up under real conditions, it has no place in our programs.
Law enforcement training is sensitive by nature. Participant identities, organizational affiliations, case materials and training content are treated with the same discretion we expect of our participants in their own work. What happens at Castrum stays at Castrum.
Switzerland's centuries-old tradition of political neutrality is not a background detail — it is a strategic asset. Castrum brings together professionals from different countries, systems and cultures without geopolitical friction. The shared language here is professionalism.
The goal of every Castrum program is not to inform participants — it is to change what they are capable of doing when they return to their units. We measure success in operational outcomes, not completion certificates.
Castrum occupies a distinct position in professional security training. We are not a conference. We are not an online course provider. We are not a certification factory. We are a small, operationally focused institute that brings together practitioners who have done the work and professionals who need to do it better.
We believe that the best training environments bring together professionals from different backgrounds, jurisdictions, disciplines and cultures. Diversity of experience is not a courtesy at Castrum — it is a source of operational insight. Our cohorts are stronger because they are varied.
Law enforcement and security training is sensitive by nature. Participant identities, organisational affiliations, case materials and training content are treated with the same discretion we expect of our participants in their own work. Phones and recording devices are not permitted in training sessions. What happens at Castrum stays at Castrum.
Every participant brings experience, context and professional judgement to the room. We build our programmes on mutual respect — between instructors and participants, and among participants themselves. Rank, nationality and background are left at the door. What matters is the work.

Our instructors are not academics. They are practitioners who have investigated organized crime networks, built digital forensics units, run OSINT operations and trained law enforcement teams across multiple jurisdictions.
Every member of the Castrum instructor team brings a minimum of ten years of active law enforcement or intelligence experience. We do not hire trainers who have not done the work. This is non-negotiable.
Detailed instructor profiles are available to verified applicants upon request. We maintain this policy to protect the operational security of our team and the integrity of our programs.
Switzerland is not simply where we are based. It is part of what we offer.
A country with no geopolitical axe to grind. A legal system built on precision and accountability. A culture that treats confidentiality as a professional standard, not a courtesy. A location at the heart of Europe, accessible from every major international hub.
Our facilities are located in Lausanne, in the Canton of Vaud — a region with one of the deepest law enforcement and security traditions in Europe, and home to several major international organizations.
Our impact is reflected in measurable outcomes — from trained professionals to completed programs, each number represents real-world capability and results.
Castrum programs are open to verified law enforcement officers, security professionals and all those whose work demands operational excellence. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
